We encourage all participants of the conference to investigate possibilities to travel to Budapest by train. Below are links that provide some information on options to travel to Budapest by train.

Should you decide to travel by air, you may wish to consider offsetting travel-related emissions through donations to solar, biomass, or energy-efficiency projects:

From the airport to the conference

Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport is approximately 20 km east of the Budapest city centre and Corvinus University and is serviced by public transport and an airport shuttle bus

Public transport

Direct bus line 100E connects the airport and the city centre every 30 min and takes about 40 to 50 min. For Corvinus University, get off the bus at Kálvin tér and walk about 500m to the university building. Attention! A special ticket must be purchased for bus 100E for HUF 900 (about 2.90) – other tickets or season tickets are not valid for this service.

Airport shuttle bus

The shuttle service by mindBud needs to be booked in advance and will pick you up at the arrival floor of the airport. Please find further information and individual prices at the miniBUD website.

From train stations to the conference

From Budapest Keleti Railway station

From Keleti Railway station (Keleti pályaudvar) take metro line 4 to Fővám tér (4 stops, 4–8 minutes). The metro station Fővám tér is in front of the conference venue. A single ticket costs HUF 350 (about 1.10).

From Budapest Nyugati railway station

From Nyugati railway station (Nyugati pályaudvar) take metro line 3 to Kálvin tér (4 stops). You can either walk about 500m to the conference venue or youcan  take metro line 4 for 1 stop to Fővám tér. Metro station Fővám tér is in front of the conference venue. A single ticket costs HUF 350 (about 1.10). case of a transfer, the ticket costs HUF 530 (about 1.70).
Attention in case of transfers: The ticket must be validated at the printed number grids at both ends each time you board: first when starting a trip at one end, and at the other end when transferring.

From Budapest Déli railway station

From Budapest Déli railway station (Déli pályaudvar), take metro line 2 to Astoria (5 stops). From Astoria take tram 47, 48, or 49 for 2 stops to Fővám tér. Station Fővám tér is in front of the conference venue. Transfer tickets cost HUF 530 (about 1.70).
Attention in case of transfers: The ticket must be validated at the printed number grids at both ends each time you board: first when starting a trip at one end, and at the other end when transferring.

From the international bus station to the conference

From Budapest Népliget international bus station

From Népliget international bus station take metro line 3 to Kálvin tér (4 stops). You can either walk about 500m to the conference venue or you take metro line 4 for 1 stop to Fővám tér. Metro station Fővám tér is in front of the conference venue. A single ticket costs HUF 350 (about 1.10). In case of a transfer, the ticket costs HUF 530 (about 1.70).

Tickets

At the airport, tickets for public transport can be purchased from customer service points of the Centre for Budapest Transport (Budapesti Közlekedési Központ, BKK) in Terminal 2A (daily 8:00–22:00) and Terminal 2B (daily 9:00–21:00), from the post office, newsagents (Relay), and ticket machines at the bus stop. Tickets are also available from the bus driver, but at a higher price.
